A Pop-Up Renaissance Faire
The Chattanooga Renaissance Faire is a pop-up Renaissance faire, built from the ground up in the heart of Chattanooga.Unlike permanent faire grounds with year-round buildings and established villages, our faire takes place in public parks. In roughly 24 hours, an ordinary green space is transformed into an immersive Renaissance Faire filled with performers, artisans, merchants, stages, combat, demonstrations, food, music, and thousands of costumed guests.And that transformation takes a village-quite literally.Our team, vendors, performers, actors, craftspeople, and volunteers all play a part in creating the world guests experience when they walk through the gates. Tents become merchant shops. Stages and performance areas appear across the grounds. The landscape fills with banners, flags, themed structures, decorated encampments, and gathering spaces. Even large scenic elements—including our stone-look castle structure—are brought in and constructed specifically for the Faire.By opening morning, the park you might have walked through the day before has become something entirely different.
We Bring the Village With Us
Being a pop-up faire means there isn’t a medieval village waiting for us when we arrive. We bring it with us. Our vendors don’t simply set up booths, they create shops and displays that become part of the Faire. Our performers and actors bring characters and stories into the streets. Demonstrating artisans bring traditional crafts to life. Musicians, fighters, entertainers, and roaming characters fill the spaces between our stages. Every banner hung, tent decorated, costume worn, character created, and interaction with a guest adds another layer to the world we’re building together. That’s also why we ask our participating vendors, performers, and cast to embrace the atmosphere of the event. Immersion at a pop-up faire isn’t created by permanent buildings; it’s created by the people who inhabit it.
Built in 24 Hours. Gone Just as Quickly.
One of our favorite things about the Chattanooga Renaissance Faire is just how temporary it is.Within about 24 hours, our team transforms public parkland into an entire Renaissance Faire. For one weekend, that space becomes a world of knights and artisans, taverns and merchants, music and combat, characters and creatures.Then, when the Faire ends, we take it all back down.The stages disappear. The castle comes apart. The banners come down. Merchants pack their shops. Performers hang up their costumes. And the park returns to being a park.Until we build it all over again.
That’s the magic of a pop-up faire: the village doesn’t exist until all of us arrive to create it.
Our Beginnings
The Chattanooga Renaissance Faire began as a Renaissance-themed Night Market created by Chattanooga’s own Verre Noir. The incredible response made it clear that our community was ready for a true Renaissance Faire, inspiring us to bring that vision to life.
That excitement led to our first pop-up Renaissance Faire in Coolidge Park in May 2026, where thousands of attendees packed the park and far exceeded our expectations. Thanks to that overwhelming support, we’re returning this fall with an even larger, expanded two-day celebration.
Throughout the weekend, the realm will come alive with live performances, roaming characters, traditional craft demonstrations, interactive games, hands-on activities, and immersive experiences for all ages. Whether you wish to watch, wander, shop, feast, or join in the revelry, there is always something unfolding throughout the faire.
The realm unfolds in the shape of a great star, its points stretching outward to stages, guilds, artisan markets, and places of merriment. This star-shaped layout invites guests to roam freely from point to point, choosing their own adventure through craft, performance, and play, with new wonders waiting around every corner.

What began as a Renaissance-themed Night Market by Chattanooga’s own Verre Noir was originally meant to be a single evening of revelry, lantern light, merry makers, handcrafted wares, and a touch of magic woven into the familiar rhythm of our Night Market. The response was immediate and overwhelming. Guests lingered, vendors thrived, performers dazzled, and one thing became clear: Chattanooga was ready for a true Renaissance Faire.
That enthusiasm inspired us to take the next step. In May 2026, we brought that vision to life with our inaugural Chattanooga Renaissance Faire in Coolidge Park. What we expected to be a fun community event became something much bigger. Thousands of attendees filled the park, far exceeding our expectations and confirming that this community was eager for a Renaissance Faire of its own.
With that incredible support, the dream continued to grow. Requests poured in for a larger realm, more entertainment, additional stages, more artisans, longer hours, and an even more immersive experience. This fall, we’re answering that call with an expanded two-day celebration spanning both Coolidge Park and Renaissance Park.
The Chattanooga Renaissance Faire was not created as a departure from the Night Market, but as its natural evolution, a community-built celebration that continues to grow with every artisan, performer, volunteer, and guest who steps through the gates.
